... there is always an idea or an inspiration. For my first project my inspiration has come from that wealth of knowledge anyone with an internet connection knows, Youtube. I was just trolling along on there one day and I came across a man who built his own rocket engine. I looked for other similar videos and low and behold there were hundreds. After watching numerous videos on homemade rockets a trend started to become evident. Almost all of the videos showed tests of the rocket engines, but exceedingly few videos explained how they were made. After seeing that, I told my friend, Jordan, that I was going to try to build a rocket engine and share the videos on Youtube. He suggested that I blog the whole process, and I thought, "Eh, why not." So here we are today.
I've given some thought to the project and the first thing I decided to work on is building a safe place where I can test the rocket. I saw an interesting design online that I'm going to base my construction on. I hope to begin construction tonight. If all goes well, I hope to have another blog entry up soon that will illustrate how to build a safe enclosure for testing a rocket.
